I know, I know.
There is a lot of Abraham Lincoln content on this podcast lately.
Why? As arguably our greatest President, he was the transition between two profound eras in American political life and arguably the first modern President. He lived a life shaped by greatness and loss, triumph and tragedy. He was our most Stoic President, and that stoicism helped him through the darkest personal and official moments.
On this episode, I’m joined by Jonathan Shapiro to talk about his new book How to Be Abe Lincoln: Seven Steps to Leading a Legendary Life.
As always, let me know what you think.
“Booth took nothing that Lincoln was unwilling to give.”
Man, how that perfectly framed the discussion about today’s politicians, especially current Republicans, who sacrifice nothing, not even discomfort. 🎯
I don't want all Republicans dead but I sure want the Republican Party to be dead. I know that's a contradiction especially because I wake every day hoping the headlines say that Trump is dead, then hoping if that wish is true, the MAGATs are magically restored to some rational sanity where they listen to some reality-based information.
I am obviously hoping for the fulfillment of a fantasy..but if it doesn't come true, then I hope I am dead before the fascist dictatorship comes to fruition. The world does not seem that it can correct to an optimistic course. 😬😕
