Folks, if you missed the first chapter of The Catalog of Imaginary Demons, this is my take on categorizing the weird, off-kilter, post-fact beliefs that motivate millions of Americans caught inside the Fox and Facebook mind control matrix.

B Is For…
Babylonian Money
This was my favorite winger conspiracy rabbit hole while writing this chapter. Some of the more colorful right-wing/MAGA (but I repeat myself) conspiracy theorists subscribe to the idea of "Babylonian money magic," which alleges that the global financial system is based on ancient occult practices and symbols stretching back to…you guessed it…ancient Babylon.
Well, of course. It couldn’t be based on an evolved system to allow the exchange of value for goods and services…it must be a demonic religion.
Proponents claim that central banks and financial institutions use these esoteric principles, actual occult rituals, and fell symbols and runes to manipulate and control the economy and have been doing so for centuries. Scratch this conspiracy itch too long, and you’ll get to the usual antisemitic greatest hits collection: the Rothchilds…by which they mean, of course, the Jews.
Ballot Fraud, 2020
At Donald Trump's (R-Sorest Loser) behest, millions of Americans wrongly believe that the 2020 election was stolen. The thin case of a stolen (or “stollen” if you’re a Trump devotee) election is based on the idea of sweeping ballot fraud executed by election workers engaged in a baroque national conspiracy of massive scope and complexity.
