The Harris campaign took off this week like a rocket, awash in favorable coverage, a massive fundraising haul, and a reenergized and joyous Democratic party that — and I write this as a longtime critic of its operational foibles — had all its moving parts headed in the same direction.
The same cannot be said for Donald Trump and the MAGA GOP. Donald Trump’s campaign is a dumpster fire atop a mountain of radioactive waste and old tires. They’re flailing, desperate, and the circle of trust is now a circle of blame.
His posts, appearances, and Alan Ginsberg beat poetry stump speeches are more unhinged and incoherent than ever. Trump is in a constant livid, ketchup-flinging fury as his Depends Valet scurries in every two hours to change his dirty diapers.
