Where's Weirdo?

A broken man, a failing campaign, and a tired audience.

Trump isn’t on the campaign trail, and while the national media seems deeply incurious as to why, I have a few ideas.

First, let’s dismiss the dumb tropes I’ve heard in the last few days:

He isn’t “resting for the home stretch.”

He isn’t so confident in his victory that he spends most days idly cheating at golf.

He isn’t “waiting for the real Democratic nominee” to emerge.

He knows Joe Biden isn’t coming back into the race.

Trump is losing because he’s Trump.

He’s angry. He’s freaking the hell out.

He’s as tired of the work of campaigning as America is of him.
