Yesterday was a good day
Trump isn't above the law, Mike Johnson can't count, and...what impeachment?
Stuart Stevens and I break down Donald Trump-is-not-above-the-law decision in the DC appeals court, the House immigration bill meltdown, and the failed attempt to impeach Department of Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
We had a great discussion I think you’ll enjoy!
THIS is why they don't want to allow Proxy Voting. So that someone has to leave the Hospital to make a vote!!
I have been thinking a great deal lately about people who’ve served in roles of public trust in American government that aren’t with us anymore. How I wish we could hear from them again because we need to be reminded of what public service used to look like in other times.
I thought about WW2 pilot George H. W. Bush, who, like John McCain, was shot down. On more than one occasion, he was fired on. He once flew several miles with his plane on fire so that he could complete his mission before he bailed out. Several people in his plane died that day. It was a miracle that he survived and was able to float long enough with another man in a rubber boat to be rescued.
I thought about Senators Bob Dole, Daniel Inouye, and (later President) John F. Kennedy. All three literally “embodied” the courage and the sacrifice so many made because they all bore the war’s suffering in their bodies for the rest of their lives.
I wonder what they might have to say to the MAGA House members who are so eager to hand Ukraine over to Trump and to Vladimir Putin, and so callous, knowing that it will mean death to so many brave Ukrainians who are fighting like so many of our ancestors did for either liberty or death.
It breaks my heart every day.
