I’m another Schmidt refugee & happily so. Lisa, I replied to your kind note via the reply address but — beginner Substack skills — for all I know It went right to Schmidt. Which would be great.
Will share again a vid worth watching. As a lifelong Democrat, it’s wonderful to benefit so richly from these brilliant apostate Republicans (except one).
Thanks again & Rick, if you get this: much happiness to the bride, groom & family!
Trump is a scumbag criminal, cheat liar, and a RAPIST (serial RAPIST at that),but most of all he's a puppet for international dictators to manipulate around the globe, but most of all he can not tell the truth, which is very very difficult for Donald Trump to speak because lying has been very natural for him to tell,,,,for me this automatically disqualifies him for the presidency
Hi Rick, there are a number of members of Steve Schmidt's 'The Warning' sub stack who are considering moving over to your forum. Can we get started for free? I think I have, but two other members said it wasn't free. We were devoted members of The Warning until Steve recently decided to actively campaign for Dean Phillips. Thanks, Lisa (in rural Montana)
I follow Rick on Twitter, support the Lincoln Project and Resolute Square. LP and RS are organizations that former republicans run to defeat authoritarians. In my opinion, they are honorable and highly effective. Rick is smart and genuine with a ton of political experience. He increases my vocabulary with every post and is also remarkably funny (as a plus). If anyone is going to defeat the orange fuhrer, it will be Rick and his amazing team. - Susan
Hi Rick! I’ve just spent the last two days commenting on Steve Schmidt’s Substack announcement of his backing of Phillips. Lots of angry folks over there! My latest comment about the Harlan Crow donation at least got a response from him. He tried to explain it away as a small amount from 4 years ago, before anyone knew about the association between Crow and Thomas. As if that matters? Anyway, i’ve jumped ship and landed here and look forward to hearing more from you.
I’m getting too old for this shit... 😞 First law of American political science is to avoid intra-party squabbling when you hold the executive branch and one side of the Capitol going into an election year. Remember Teddy K. backstabbing Jimmah and the DNC in 1980. The OPEC oil boycott probably made re-election unlikely but Ted went out of his way to trash Carter in ways that were co-opted by Ray-Gun’s ads.
I’m am absolutely furious with him, and I’ve let him know. We worked so hard to get him elected and he’s throwing it away. As seen in the speaker vote today, we cannot lose a single vote in the House. I may have to remind him again how I feel.
I was intrigued by your comment on Fast Politics, Rick, about some of the people behind this King Canute-worthy futile attempt to reverse the tide of history were also involved with selecting Sarah Palin to be John McCain's running mate. Then I noticed Dean Phillips recently did a long interview with Steve Schmidt....
I'm assuming that you are supported by the dark money Oligarchs as is No Name. These Oligarchs don't believe in democracy, don't pay taxes and really have no allegiance to any country. Beware voters!
I wish I knew who this man was, but I trust that Wilson does and my advice to all of those running against Biden as "independents" is as Rick said, be careful what you wish for. Perhaps these people think well, look at trump. He had so much baggage and he won despite it. True, but trump's singularity of purpose was the result of a merger of several of his characteristics as a life long criminal/con artist.
First, although the base still thinks of trump as being a yugely successful businessman, that is not based on his record, but the clean up and promotion done by the reality tv guy who found and hired him to ACT THE PART. However, having lost or being about to lose his show with the coffers stripped, trump actually needed the job of POTUS, even if he didn't actually perform it as it was written but as a facsimile. That gave him the drive to steam roll his competition. Presumably Philips and the other contenders have actual jobs that require their attention and this time around will be scrutinized in a way that sadly, trump escaped.
Second, trump even in his heyday, replete with bankruptcies he dumped on other people, was never considered a top tier realtor, but a social climbing scam artist. However, he did have a well refined skill, part of a constellation of con artistry tricks, that of brander. The fact that so many of his brands failed or were busted (trump U) didn't matter to a gullible base who loved that tacky plane and Saddam decorating sense which they misinterpreted as success. It's doubtful any novice can match his branding savvy. No newbie is going to be able to duplicate the endless stream of schlock product.
Lastly, very few people who voted for Biden the first time have reason not to vote for him again, particularly since his strongest calling card that he has employed to the advantage of the country is his experience. Why on earth in these uncertain times would anyone go from a reliable race horse to an unbroken newbie? Combine that with the other point Rick made, which is once bitten, twice shy, anyone who hasn't already drunk the Koolaid and possesses all five senses will be on the lookout for any characteristic that even remotely resembles the scams of trump the Impaler. be forewarned. This isn't "Billions" or some politically correct period piece, it's a crucial campaign that involves the fate of our republic. Anyone who tries to get in the way of vanquishing the enemy is a punk indulging his ego. Note that RFK Jr, also groomed by rw operatives, is more appealing to trump voters, most likely the Q crowd expecting his long deceased cousin to show up.

Lisa,
I didn't want to comment on the other site.

How much is the Trump campaign paying his consultants?

I think I know who you’re talking about when you said, “I’ll enjoy watching the collapse of the people around you!”

Yeah—Steve Schmidt—who was behind many of LPs early issues—is behind this.

Harry Dunn & Some "Good Trouble"
- there ! Solved It.
I WISH the Stand His Ground Capitol Cop Would Jump In and Help Us One More Time !
Politically, obviously,
But DESTROY him.
I know you can.
Oh, and if you’re not terribly busy, the sooner the better.
I'm here for this mission.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the work you have done and continue to do. You are a truly vital part to saving this country!
Doing God’s work Mr. Wilson.
Thank you.

You put into words the things that come to mind when I hear someone say to me Trump is a great business man! Well stated and bravo
Another ego in a suit campaigning on “make America affordable again” as if he can miraculously bring prices down. What an asshole.
Thank you! I saw that slogan and thought "since when do presidents have the ability to set prices?"
Funded by the same folks funding a Supreme Court Justice?
