Rick, I suggest changing the name of what passes today for the Republican Party. Instead of GOP let’s call it the 4C — the party of Crooks, Cowards, Cynics and Crackpots.
This is what I have waited most of my adult life to see-a political party with joy and fire. Not afraid, not ashamed, boldly proclaiming a path forward to a better America. I'm tired of holding my nose and voting for the lesser evil. Let's make it a permanent plan. Kamala and the coach. Not Felon and the couch.
If he has the balls to debate, I can’t wait to see Kamala crush his ass. This whole thing is so past ridiculous and this entire nation needs treatment after this-this-this thing. God help us all.
Mr. Wilson, you have my deepest respect and I encourage you to continue to support truth. It is a comfort for this old lady to read your messages. 👍👏🙏🙋♀️💙🇺🇸
Well, politics is a blood sport and the Obama's did draw some...good on 'em, too!
Finally, in this DNC, democrats decided to fight like Repubs!
And, not to diminish Barrack's, ahem, Donvict 'dick joke', but the former first lady Michelle Obama also had a great line for the Donvict that she delivered in excellent 'street style'... ala - "who's gonna tell him that the job he's currently seeking might just be one of those 'Black jobs.' So cool....
It's about time, Dems got down in the trenches to fight the vile Trump. I am a lifelong Democrat and have been saying this since that piece of shit, Newt Gingrich, came along. If you have a classy opponent then go high, not low. But, there have very few classy Republicans since Trump came along.
Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey are probably 2 of the best orators on the planet.
Sure glad they're on the Dem side.
Trump's got Hulk Hogan (wants to "body slam" Kamala) and JD Vance (Dems are "communists" and "cat ladies"), and we've got Michelle & Oprah.
What an uplifting convention.
Looking forward to Kamala knocking it out of the park.
My personal highlight: Tim Walz's son Gus tearfully and proudly shouting out "that's my Dad!" That one instant is worth million dollars of advertising.
Dems are connecting to everyday Americans, middle class, hard working Americans. Briliant strategy, brilliantly executed. That's the groundwork for moment's like Gus Walz's proud shout out to happen.
I've gone from last month's despair to a new Hope.
the Dems' strategy is brilliant: flip their biggest weakness (inflation/economy) into their greatest strength: WE, the Dems, will fight inflation, create affordable housing, etc etc. WE, the Dems, are the Change Agents. WE the Dems are the saviors of the middle class and hard working Americans.
And nothing symbolizes that strategy better than the choice of Tim Walz as VP. Now WE the Dems are the party of the midwest, of rural America, of guns and football and families.
In one month Kamala Harris (and her A+++ team) have turned a despairing party facing sure-defeat into an electrified, unified, movement with a middle America platform and a team at the top that appeals to a broad spectrum. And what a deep bench of Dem talent on display. And did I mention high-profile Republicans endorsing Kamala and looking straight into the camera saying "Fellow Republicans, Donald Trump must be purged from our party. You're not voting for Dems, your voting for your country." Now it's the Dems proudly waving the flag and chanting USA.
The Blue Wave has begun. And those delegates (who will run the local campaigns) will be heading home full of energy and hope and joy.
And Kamala Harris's campaign will go down in the political history books as one of the most brilliant campaigns ever.
I've been involved in elections for over 6 decades, and i've never seen such a brilliantly designed and executed roll-out and convention. (Those Dems who were afraid of the hand-off must be breathing much easier now.)
Trump has JD Vance calling it "communism" and Hulk Hogan saying he wants to "body slam" Kamala, while the Dems have Tim Walz's tearful son Gus proudly telling the world "that's my Dad".
And this is why I read everything Rick writes and delight in his style: Last night, yielding, both the battle ax and exquisitely poisoned daggers, the Obamas ripped the living shit out of Donald Trump in ways that approached Lincoln Project standards of political brutality.
So in her speech Michelle told us her dear departed mother, along with her father, strivers both, never wanted to get wealthy. Indeed, Mom never trusted people who took too much. Much applause!
One wonders what Mom would have thought about the modest new $12 million place the Obamas just moved into, among the little people, on highly diverse Martha’s Vineyard? Perhaps it represented taking too much for a pair of empty nesters? They are now down to their last 4 mansions so they are strivers too.
I’m sure that you are brighter than this latest comment makes you appear, Abe.
Obviously, my criticism was about the hypocrisy of Michelle quoting her apparently saintly mother who was very concerned about people who take too much, while Michelle, who extolled that phrase as a lesson for all of us, herself resides in 4 huge mansions (any concerns about the corollary gargantuan carbon footprints?). Certainly even you have noticed the disconnect.
Any thoughts, from the taking too much perspective, on Michelle charging $750,000 for each one hour speech that she makes? I suppose in this case it’s just a supply and demand issue, while almost nothing else is if other wealthy people or corporations are involved.
The actual quote is, "...suspicious of folks who took more than they needed.". The Obamas have earned everything they have. They didn't take anything, they earned it.
Extending your thought - has it occurred to you that someone like Elon Musk has earned what he has or is that thought out of bounds for you? In 2008, both Tesla and SpaceX were technically bankrupt. Since then he has made more of the EVs that Dems worship so much than anyone else and built Tesla into a company that is many times more valuable than GM and Ford combined. And SpaceX is really the only reliable way for NASA to put people into orbit (recall that the amazing Boeing has indefinitely stranded two astronauts on the ISS).
As a sidebar he created Starlink and put 50 thousand communications satellites in space, creating a communications network that the Pentagon lusts to control while making great progress creating Neuralink to do neural implants in people with severe spinal cord injuries. Read up.
Do you think Musk earned his wealth as much as the selfless public servant Obama did? I’m pretty sure you don’t.
I’m sure you object to the wealth of hedge funders too even though I guarantee that your pension fund has money to fund your retirement tied up in such funds.
So taking too much is just a phrase to trot out for the cheering section? Recall that they have 3 other huge houses too. Nice carbon footprint to heat and AC all of them.
Donald, Circling me as you did Hilary, will not fly on this stage.
Became clear, Democrats read and re-read THE manual, every bit applicable to this day.
Beating the “douche bag terminator” at “Trump’s fight club.”
Obamas threw out the “flame thrower”
and more!
Let Trump read His Bible while we kick his ass.
The manual is Rick’s
Running Against the Devil,
(Improperly cited, whatever).
Nothing could be clearer. Thank you!!

It's so good to feel good for a change ❤️
"Last night, yielding, both the battle ax and exquisitely poisoned daggers, the Obamas ripped the living shit out of..." I believe you meant WEILDING.
If he has the balls to debate, I can’t wait to see Kamala crush his ass. This whole thing is so past ridiculous and this entire nation needs treatment after this-this-this thing. God help us all.

Newt...hypocritic mofo...hell, his own party ran him away!
They had some sense in those days.
Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey are probably 2 of the best orators on the planet.

Rick, I think you should consider creating a history of dirty jokes in campaigning.
the Dems' strategy is brilliant: flip their biggest weakness (inflation/economy) into their greatest strength: WE, the Dems, will fight inflation, create affordable housing, etc etc. WE, the Dems, are the Change Agents. WE the Dems are the saviors of the middle class and hard working Americans.

And we've still got the finale tonight.
Hope, indeed.
There is no such thing as a friendly street fight. The way to riots in December is weakness in August.
And this is why I read everything Rick writes and delight in his style: Last night, yielding, both the battle ax and exquisitely poisoned daggers, the Obamas ripped the living shit out of Donald Trump in ways that approached Lincoln Project standards of political brutality.
It. Was. Glorious!
Paul Keating is a politician you would have enjoyed, even if he was Labor

And got a glowing review from The NY Times fashion critic. I wander what they’ll say about Walz’s suit?
So in her speech Michelle told us her dear departed mother, along with her father, strivers both, never wanted to get wealthy. Indeed, Mom never trusted people who took too much. Much applause!

And we are now told that Mrs Obama is getting paid $750,000 for each hour or less speech. Taking more than her share?
Apparently the Mother’s life lessons didn’t take with Michelle.
Hypocrisy smells bad.
envy smells worse
It appears that Michelle’s sainted mother suffered from terminal envy given the things that were said in the referenced speech.
so your criticism is that the Obamas were smart and savvy and made money, like Donald Trump?
I’m sure that you are brighter than this latest comment makes you appear, Abe.

Too cute by half.
I don't recall any of these other people being mentioned in Michelle Obama's speech.
The name of the system is democratic capitalism.
Yes, people who do things for their own reasons. Shocking.
I could live there.
What a great house on MV! Thanks for the link. They both earned it and deserve it.
(Do cheer up!)
So taking too much is just a phrase to trot out for the cheering section? Recall that they have 3 other huge houses too. Nice carbon footprint to heat and AC all of them.
But, as we say, never mind.
I have to say, the owning of 4 large homes does bother me; especially when they ask for donations to build the Presidential Library.
Politics isn’t supposed to be for getting extremely wealthy, but it seems like most of them do.
Who hurt you?
That’s your response? Come back with substance about people who take too much.
Not to mention that Kamala wore a TAN SUIT.
Um-hmm.
