Finally, atong last, you're using the word monarchy. You are aware that there is a king of the European Union,? That he lives in Brussels, is maybe 75 years old, doesn't support the idea of monarchy. When he dies, there will be a mad scramble for the title King among all the European royalty and rule by Whimsey, backed up by a new Pope, will put us all in chaos. That is why democracy in the USA must continue.

Lincoln's embryonic Republicans eventually became a national vessel for an anti-slavery vote. What great cause is there for a reborn conservative party and movement to claim from the Democrats?

Surely you've wondered why Paul Ryanism is so dead it's not even (unlike the echoes of zombie Reaganism) undead, why no one takes inspirational free market rhetoric seriously anymore? After the catastrophes of Iraq and Afghanistan, you _do_ understand that the patriotic, nationalist coalition you proudly participated in had room for a lotta really bad actors and channeled a lot of bad basic human impulses? That's what we anti-anti-Communists were opposing, not that we ever were supporting Communism.
