More on the Bridget and Christian Ziegler Sex Abuse Scandal
I recorded this Friday night while writing my Florida’s GOP Sex Scandal Gets Ugly piece.
Since then, it’s uglier than ever.
Ziegler has refused to leave his post as Republican Party of Florida Chairman, even though even Ron DeSantis is pushing him off the cliff. Interestingly, DeSantis hasn’t asked Bridget Ziegler to leave the Vichy Disney Control Board to which he named her.
As one of Casey’s best friends, I wonder what whether they’re doing that from love or fear.
The allegations against Christian Ziegler are truly ugly and sickening, and the story continues to roil Florida politics.

What gets me is the now-total shamelessness of these people. Things that used to end careers, they say "What problem?" And their supporters don't care! This is the real legacy of Trump, who has never met a crisis he couldn't deny in the face of all fact.
It certainly seems that the Republican Party is obsessed with sex. Many are caught up in sex scandals, rape, pedophilia, going after abortion, LGBTQ+ individuals, trans individuals. You name it, if it involves sex in any way, shape or form, they're involved. Maybe it's the strict religious upbringings?
