I used to be so grateful that we left Florida, partly because of all that BS. But guess where we ended up? North Carolina...sigh.

Rick, What can we do as ordinary citizens to help use this dirt to defang M4L? The mainstream media is not running with this story-perhaps because it seems so tawdry. However, the Ziegler’s have given the pro-democracy side an opening to help shut down the book bans, anti-LGBTQ , anti-disabled, anti-POC, anti-immigrant etc? How can we normies act to capitalize on this hypocrisy?

In August 2022, I called the local TV stations, with the cheering of my water aerobics pals, because the local M4L group had threatened and intimidated our district superintendent. The superintendent didn’t follow district or state guidelines for reviewing books before they were pulled from shelves and curricula . She just capitulated to the pressure instead of following protocol. 3 of the 4 stations followed the story. However, it took a great deal of effort and energy for us loud, but senior retirees, to stop the censorship train in blue dot San Diego in blue CA. We need more help!

What gets me is the now-total shamelessness of these people. Things that used to end careers, they say "What problem?" And their supporters don't care! This is the real legacy of Trump, who has never met a crisis he couldn't deny in the face of all fact.

It certainly seems that the Republican Party is obsessed with sex. Many are caught up in sex scandals, rape, pedophilia, going after abortion, LGBTQ+ individuals, trans individuals. You name it, if it involves sex in any way, shape or form, they're involved. Maybe it's the strict religious upbringings?

The Daily Kos has been keeping this list for years. There appears to be a psychological phenomenon, which I’m not really qualified to discuss, but which involves people projecting onto others their own “sins.” The hypocrisy is astonishing. You’ll see that they are up to part 45; that’s how extensive this is. This list does not include people engaged in consensual acts, but since Republicans would deny others’ rights to love who they wish and to behave as they wish, it still amounts to hypocrisy.
