The corporate interests backed Hitler too and it took many years for Germany to recover. Just saying.

In other words they are driven by fear, just like us peons. The fear of actually paying their share and being true Americans. The fear of that evil burden of fair taxation. The fear of helping humanity in a real, not self-serving, way.

I’m related to some people like that. I’ve actually heard one discourage her daughters from going out for drinks because she saw my sons, their cousins, as somehow, “Not one of us.” Slowly but surely I came to all the same conclusions you have, Rick. And it stinks. We’ve got to turn this ship around. They’ll adjust. They’ll still be rich, but there will be more people who can actually survive and thrive. It’ll be tough to make it happen because we let too many of them run loose, but we can’t give up now. Thanks for writing. If I make enough from my own soon, I’ll sign up.

"... inequality at levels that make the Gilded Age’s mega-rich look like medieval farmers scraping in a field for one last potato before winter arrives."

I love this description, Rick. Thank you, this made my afternoon! LOL

They believe their wealth will save them. I hope they all learn to fly, Putin has shown us what happens to the wealthy when they don't blindly obey.

I'm retired and broke but think you guys are doing a great thing. I loved Rick Wilson's "Everything trump Touches, Dies". I'm all in for voting a straight Dem ticket in Nov. which I have never before done.

You folks at The Lincoln Project are smart enough and certainly motivated enough. You have to find a way to beat Trump. You have to do what seems to be next to impossible…convince Trumpsters to NOT vote for him. They watch Fox. All they see is that Biden is horrible. You need to turn them around!!!

Thanks for assessment Rick, delivered in your usual blunt form. I agree with your assessment.

Rick,

I want to thank you for your persistent, brilliant, expert, hilarious, and often naughty interpretation of this painful process. Whenever I'm ready to submit my application for citizenship to Canada, I read your twitter or listen to you and Tara and my heart is lighter. I love that the good guys have you out there with your ninja skills and focus against these awful people. Please don't ever leave us.

Great analysis with history on your side! No matter how much the donor class holds its nose when they crawl for Trump, it's all about the money and the status quo for them.

I am shocked- shocked, I tell you- to learn there are no altruists among the GOP donor class. I guess it's true, like the man said, "Money doesn't talk- it screams". And it's telling the rich to protect their stash.

So what you're saying is that they are deeply stupid people.

Very interesting insight as usual, Rick. You've been saying from the get-go that all of the R "Trump-opposed, Trump-averse" etc. will ultimately fall in line behind him in '24, and you're being proven right. Witness only 1.5 (Asa and Christie . . sort of) said on the last debate stage they wouldn't support Trump if he's the nominee. All the others admitted they will. And today Gov. Kemp is the latest one to say he'll support the Orange idiot if he's the nominee because "he's still better than Biden". The megadonors you speak of are just as spineless and will do just as you predict.

I wish you led White House communications team. I certainly hope the Lincoln Project messages get through to them. "Bidenomics" is not working for them. They need to slam Trump.

Rick,

I truly appreciated the work you and your colleagues did to put people in "the know how" in 2020.

That said, do you think that in 2024 when the Biden campaign starts putting out political advertising they will make a difference?

Perhaps the reason his polling is so low is because his messaging is almost non-existent.

I would suspect that come next year among the work you and Lincoln Project offer, the DNC adverts, and Biden campaign roll-outs, perhaps voters will "get the message."

BTW - don't bother with media buys in Indiana...too many of my fellow voters are in the bag for the Criminal-In-Chief.

There are blue dots in Indiana, but they are either smart enough to keep their opinions to themselves or scared shitless of the MAGAts. Nonetheless, I know LP is savvy enough to peel those who are “iffy” away from their rabid neighbors. I expect no miracles, but progress is attainable.

Agree on Hoosierland. I live in the intellectual bubble of West Lafayette, IN, home of Purdue University, 60 miles from Indianapolis.

Yet, my Congressional district is connected to a gerrymandered plan that takes us 120 miles north.
