The RNC Bust-Out is on. The “bust-out” is a trope in mob movies, novels, and television series you’ve seen before. A hapless business owner gets in bed with the mob due to borrowing money from a loan shark or owing gambling debts to men with vowelly names and certain ethnolinguistic fillips. They use the patsy’s credit, assets, and properties to roll up massive new debts to more traditional lenders and vendors, then burn the place down for the insurance money. Only the stooge gets screwed in the end.
Well said Rick! It's tough to qualify to be a full fledged MAGA. Donald only wants 100% loyal followers/donors/marks/hosts in Trump World. He's chased away the Rational Rs, the moral Independents, women who don't want to vote for a rapist, military heroes and their families, people who know right from wrong, people who can tell the difference between the truth and a lie, people who don't approve of corruption, people who prefer not to elect a criminal to public office. To be in the MAGA club he expects you to overlook his daily transgressions. You have to give him the "benefit of the doubt" over and over. It must be exhausting to be a MAGA!

Just thought of another group that Donald has pushed away. People who care about manners, courtesy, respect. In our daily lives, we must interact with each other in a mutually respectful way. Those who want to "Be Like Don" are pretty lonely folks.

Maybe it's because I've never been a Republican so I don't have a nostalgic attachment to the name, but I am grinning like an ambulatory heap of teeth at the RNC thing. You don't often see cancer cells take over and destroy the body this quickly. I don't know what the effect on down-ballot races will be, other than Not Good but you're the expert - this is going to cost them races, right? Maybe loosen some of those death grips on state legislatures....
The Trump/mafia bust out of the RNC is an apt analogy for what’s going on, but in the world of organized crime Trump isn’t capo dei capi. He’s an under boss. The gutting of the RNC is a more significant play than rank and file MAGA fascist know. It’s the collapse of the American right flank in the fight against Putinism and its global autocracy project.
