Rick really needs to stop promising upcoming posts, unless it’s a bit that I’m not understanding, literally every time he teases an upcoming post it never happens

Just write it there and then Rick

I’m reading In The Garden of Beasts which gives an extraordinary view into the rise of Nazi power, particularly what the country felt like to Berliners and visitors as the evil grew. In the early months and even years, it was not uncommon to be blind to the terror because no one you knew was the target and most people living in Berlin were actually celebrating what they perceived as an elevation of the country’s economy. When warned of the looming tragedy, Berliners were adept at denial.

Meanwhile the power of Hitler’s appointments grew, often with minimal oversight. Beware the empowered apparatchik who yearns to exact his evil intensions and who convinces his superior that his evil plan will further the leader’s lust to attain and hold onto power. The cruelty is not a bug, it’s a feature.

Thanks for this Rick (and Part 2 in advance)! Tolkien and CS Lewis have been on my mind. Eloquent lessons on the never ending war between good and evil. Assume the worst (Trump takes the WH) and think about the Resistance. And the strategies that will be required to outsmart and defeat the Unman and his acolytes. Who will have the courage to take the role of Ransom/Bilbo/Frodo? Who will have the courage to fight and win America back?

Just to pile on to this list, because we need to know everything we're up against. Thom Hartmann did a column this morning talking about the proposed Constitutional Convention that Republicans are scheming to have. I first heard about this about three years ago, and it fell into the black hole where news goes to die unless it's continually reported on. Now they're proposing that all of the motions for a Constitutional Convention that have been made throughout US history, but went nowhere, are STILL in effect, which magically brings the number of states to 34, which is what is necessary for a convention like that to happen. They would COMPLETELY rewrite the Constitution, and no one could stop it, not the president, Congress, or state governors.

If that actually gets a foothold, I'd say it's at that time that the country would have to split. Figure out the geography, and then give people a year or two to decide where they're going to live and then just get it done. I will not live in the United States of MAGAland, "that I can tell you." I'm also not fleeing to another country. We take the government we have now and continue on. THEY can do whatever the hell they want. This political situation is NOT changing, ever. Even if they are defeated next year, they won't stop. Every election forever will be an existential crisis. Who wants to live like that? Not me. EVERYTHING Trump touches dies.

You forgot Boebert as Secretary of Education, a job for token females where weapons-grade ignorance is a must - if your goal is the total dismantling of society from the ground up. Oh, and Jason Miller for Treasury, since he knows all about keeping his money from those who need it.

Or perhaps Marge the Brainless One?

Rick, is there a way you can get an “expert” on Project 2025 on your podcast? Someone who will explain it so it can be digested. Someone with a Democratic brain must have read the book and all the stuff displayed on the internet. It isn’t being hidden in writing or speech what they will do.

Oh no! That's a list of the All Time Worst people in the country right now. The only one missing is Hannity! They'd be the deathnell of this country for sure.

The only good thing about them is that most of them are borderline incompetents and fools with no practical experience at real governig, so it's possible they wouldn't even be able to figure out how to keep the lights on and the furnace running.
