You should read Rick Wilson's Substack for today , it paints a very scary story of what will happen if dumpster wins !

I can't get too exercised over the Supreme Court's timing (though why they demanded the detour through the DC Court is another thing). What I don't get is why they maintained the stay. Why not just let the trial continue and then, if they make an idiotic decision to grant immunity, they can just turn off the trial.

*That's* what makes me deeply suspicious that the fix is in.

The buzz is out regarding tfg cruddy polling and turn out inNoHo. I am over it. The mob continues to run amuck and mess with me. I will never support a man who steels and wants to be cruel above all to damage our people and nation. Vote

Former Congresswoman Cheney is right. It's so disheartening that the Supreme Court has not put this on a fast track. It's ironic when the judicial branch seems to act in service of former president Trump when he has no respect at all for judges, court personnel, judicial decision-making, rules of procedure, decorum, or any aspect of the court system.

"Whatever the Court’s rationale for the delay, they can’t blame the public for believing in a political overlay to the decision." "Red" Court, indeed.

I scrolled through a few of the comments, but didn’t see anything addressing my question. I heard you say this on the breakdown also Rick. What would be the motivation behind Merrick Garland telling Jack Smith to drop the case? I mean, I understand that Trump would probably stop the case if he were to regain the presidency, but why would Garland drop the case before the election?

OANN guy to Habba, “Pay it”. We know Hannity, Carlson and apparently the new messenger have delivered the message from his superhero. If he doesn’t pay what will his boss do?

I finally forced myself to watch George Conway, Harry Litman, Glenn Kirschner, Michael Popok and Karen Friedman Agnifilo and I'm up to speed on the SCOTUS ruling. I'm fighting the same despondency, existential nausea and desire to avoid that so many in this community are right now.

Apparently they had five votes to affirmatively keep the stay and the J6 case frozen. It was an unsigned order but you'd have to surmise that it was all but Roberts and the liberal wing -- Thomas, Alito and the three Trump whores. As I've said several times, the problem isn't taking the case; SCOTUS isn't remotely likely to find for criminal immunity. The problem is freezing out Smith and Chutkan.

KFA is furious that Smith handed this to SCOTUS in December and they kicked it back down to the 11th Circuit. Why? The appeals court took some time to write a blisteringly tight decision and now, all of a sudden, SCOTUS want to hear it? And do what with it? Decide the 11th Circuit wrong? Heh.

SCOTUS can't rule in favor of Trump here. SCOTUS already decided that Trump had no immunity from E. Jean Carroll's lawsuit. But what it can do is push the J6 trial to the end of the election season, handing Trump a victory that their final ruling won't be able to do. The grotesquerie is refulgent.

SCOTUS has 18% public approval, which I think is still above stomach cancer and genital herpes. They're about to give third-stage syphilis a run for its money.

Marching is not going to make any difference.

Organize, or join an organization, register voters, knock on doors, send postcards and rally the people you know.

That’s what works. That worked here in Ohio when we restored Roe.

We must continue to fight for our democracy.

Never give up.

In the legal arts concept of “APA” (absolute presidential immunity); in the SCOTUS world they actually have to contemplate whether it is fully legal to send the masses to camps, put them in mass execution chambers and rape their wives. It took since Dec. to decide on cert. Europe remembers, why doesn’t SCOTUS.

“That timeframe is something that doubtless weighs heavily on Attorney General Merrick Garland. The clock is running, and Trump, Garland, and the Court know it. At some point, Garland calls Smith and says, “End it.” “

What?

Merrick Garland will stop the whole thing?

Why is this man still AG?

Not sure he belongs on SCOTUS either. 😡

Sadly, many of Trump’s supporters remain oblivious to or don’t care about the type of man Trump is nor the type of leader he aspires to be. Many of his supporters are unapologetically ill-informed and will vote for him even if he is sitting in a jail cell…a happenstance that looks less and less likely as time marches on. If Trump gets in, the USA will once again become a laughing stock yet everyone will be terrified to go against the USA because of who will hold the nuclear codes. Trump will not allow anyone in the White House or government in general who has not pledged fealty to him. Gee…that almost sounds like a king…something the founding fathers fought to get rid of.

SCOTUS is delaying this ruling to Donald's potential benefit. However, regardless of the immunity ruling (which will not go Donald's way--the justices aren't stupid--read the lower court rulings) President Biden is in office until Jan 20, 2025. As the head of the Executive Branch, he has the power, regardless of the immunity ruling, to arrest Trump and his conspirators, and hold them without bail, due to their clear and present danger to the survival of the United States. Following Lincoln's example, he can suspend the Writ of Habeas Corpus in order to preserve the Union. Donald claims to be like Navalny? Navalny was imprisoned and executed unjustly. Donald could be jailed and held to account for his crimes, with full justice.
