Rick, good Live Strategy Session Tuesday. You are right about keeping an eye on Rep. Mike Johnson. I wonder if he realizes he is surrounded by vultures.

Concerning Trump's words: Maybe a good break though: I actually head a favorite traditional news host out-Trump's speech for what it is: Fascist. Good sign. Hope it continues.

On the lighter side: As to Ramaswamy building a wall on the Canadian border!!! Eh!? I wonder if he failed ice hockey or got hit in the head with the "biscuit".

Rick, why is the American tech sector run by a bunch of fucking traitors and how do we change that short of violent direct action?

are reciprocal countermeasures like ban baidu, ban tiktok, ban vkontakte really so bad for the bottom line? Because the latter two are definitely foreign vectors for that 15 year+ faecbook disinformation attack on democracy in the name of profit. or hey how about repeal DMCA and write a new law allowing lawsuits against the corporate giants for little things like defamation, doxxing, vectoring viruses, violations of privacy hm?

Hey! I think I just wrote myself a legislative aid job!

I'm in the middle of Brian Stelter's book and yes, Fox News IS a propaganda machine. They went from news/opinion to almost strictly opinion and never pointed out the difference. So, Tucker Carlson was NEWS, Shawn Hannity was NEWS, Laura Ingraham was NEWS. That's what their viewers picked up on; that what they were watching on prime-time Fox was news, and to be believed because, again, it was NEWS.

And Stuart's right, as soon as I'm finished with the Fox book, I'm going back to ETTD, and reread it, just to see.

On another note, I saw Steve Bannon interviewed on the last episode of "The Circus," and one of the things he said was that, with their plans, there will come a time when we'll WISH Trump was back in power. The rabid right-wing has PLANS for everybody. It's a little frightening, and another important reason to keep up the fight against it. I don't plan on being a regular German citizen of the 1930s and just let it happen.

Much of legacy media is actively complicit at this point. They understand exactly what is happening, and, with few exceptions, have signaled their willingness to accommodate an antidemocratic regime.

I'm tired of the unwarranted assumption that media is simply unwittingly bound by 'framing' and reading books will open their eyes.

Just as GOP officials and GOP voters have made their choice to reject democracy, so too have large swaths of the media. They'll acclimate, compromise, and rationalize through a 2nd Trump term. A handful, at most, will resign.

Democracy doesn't die in darkness...it dies with the cynical help of a craven elite media class.
