Let’s start with George’s terrific new book “The Situation Room: The Inside Story of Presidents In Crisis. We had a fantastic dive into the history of the Situation Room and how Presidents have used it to navigate the most dangerous moments in modern history. (Some, not as much as others. I’ll let you guess.)

My next discussion is with the brilliant Ian Bremmer of the Eurasia Group. Ian is a deep thinker about the world as it is, not as we want it to be, and I appreciated this conversation about the future that’s coming us, like it or not. We cover the big realignments of global players, the coming AI wave, and the role of human liberty in a future that looks more authoritarian-friendly than we’d like.
He’s a rigorous thinker, and I know you’ll enjoy this episode!

Rick, thank you for your superb scolding of Democrats who need to shut the hell up and work like crazy to elect Biden. They are their own worst enemy.
Ian Bremmer has such interesting thoughts. He links historical shifts so well. It terrifies me that this country, once again, will pursue the profit motive with AI before we really have a clue how to regulate it—-and this genie ain’t going back in the bottle. Mr. Bremmer raise a point I had heard before about the AI technology reflecting our wants back at us. Once again it sounds like a new opiate for the masses or those not engaged in constant critical thinking. We keep moving in the direction of dumbing down our society. It is terrifying.
